A7N8X Deluxe Memory

Ok, so having finally RMA'ed my board due to a mess-up with the BIOS, I've gotten interested in what the best memory configuration for this particular mobo are. I will buy 3 DIMMs, but should I get PC3500, or PC3200? Should I get 3x 1GB sticks, or 2x 512MB and 1x 1GB sticks? Which manufacturer? I've been using 1x Corsair XMS3200 512MB prior to my little flash episode, and was happy with the performance. As always, thanks in advance for your replies, you guys rock!

3gb is overdoing it.. I'd get 2 512mb sticks 3200, and use them in the dual channel to get that effect, that is plenty

i run the deluxe mobo also, i currently run the ddr 333(3200) in dual channel mode, which seems to give the best performance, but if your processor is on 266 , i recommend the same for the ram.

Agree with Todd. Get 2x512 ddr3200. Corsair is good stuff.

DDR333 is PC2700. DDR400 is PC3200.

I wouldnt. The ram is backwords compatible. Get the best you can afford, this stuff(pc3200) will last you sometime into the future.

You hit the nail on the head tony...

Get two sticks of 512MB, get Corsair PC3200, and you'll be all set for future upgrades, including the new 400FSB Athlons...

Hey Phoenix;
The guys are right you don’t need more than 1GB of ram, even for the most tedious home use. Dual channel for performance, single 1GB for space and affordability.

Good Luck DevilsFury
