Outdoors Jittery Lines

I have a PowerColor (ATI Certified) Radeon 9700 card and a MAG Innovision monitor. I am getting jittery bars scrolling down my screen. They vary in speed as I change the refresh rate so I am assuming it might be the monitor and not the card. I did not try the monitor on another computer but I switched it with my other monitor on the DVI with an adapter. The problem stayed with the same monitor. More evidence that it is probablt the monitor. Does anyone have a clue what this might be? I tried another outlet that is on another breaker and it persisted.

I need help please! I need to finish a video project!!!

sounds like a driver issue possibly... the 2nd monitor didnt work either right? you said "More evidence that it is probablt the monitor" i think you mean card. i think it means drivers. make sure you have the latest ATI drivers, and the correct monitor driver, not a default one. what os?

No, the 2nd monitor did work. When I switched the two around, it was still the same monitor that didn't work, not the same port. Yeah, my post was confusing when I read it too...

I am running WinXP-pro. I got the latest driver and control panel from ATI and installed them. I tried to get the non-generic driver for the monitor but it said that I had the best driver for the monitor already.

Another thing I have noticed that I forgot to mention is some distortion in the top right corner. I don't think they are related but it might mean the monitor just needs to be fixed...or drop kicked...

Any other ideas?

I have a different monitor from work hooked up right now and both that one and my second are flawless. My primary monitor (the one with the problem) has to be the problem. To be positive, I will take it with me to work to try it out on my computer there...

Wish me luck...

ok... I am a big dumb idiot. My cordless phone has been causing the problem. I went to call tech support and as soon as I hit the "talk" button, the lines went nuts...

Please no one post this on the internet or anything. That would be embarrassing. ... oh wait...

Thanks for trying to help!
