Flashing a bios is simple
if you follow the instructions provided by your mobo manufacturer. It's always a tense minute or so for me anyways. If you suffer a power failure mid flash, you may end up being the proud new owner of an $80-$150 doorstop. Then you're off to the manufacturer's web site trying to order another BIOS chip.
The only time I flash my BIOS is when there's a new feature out I need or a fix for some problem I'm having. The last mobo I flashed was to get it to support a new faster CPU I had purchased.
