256mb ecc 9chips on each side ? or can it be 8chips on each side ?

Hi


guys I have a dilema here, Im looking at a memory stick that says ecc but it is 8 chips on each side , is it non-ecc ?
does it have to be 9 chips on each side ?


all feedback will be really appreciated

I'm pretty sure for ECC and parity the number of chips has to be a multiple of 3 (regular is a multiple of 2).

oh cool, so they are easy to tell
by the way can a module be registered and not be ecc ?
this one also says registered and it looks like reg as well
