Talk FREE Exchange Server

Is there a free alternative to exchange server?

Currently I'm running Microsoft Mail from my NT 4.0 Server to use as an LAN based email system. Is there some other program that has functions and capabilities similar to exchange server that is free or at least darn cheaper?

MailEnable, standard version is fee
Pro version is minimally limited after 60 days (Only thing you can't do after the trial is send attachments using the web browser email)

So, essentially it is a truly free product then ...
I shall have to have a play with that one!

I love it, real stable and whatnot, I use the Pro because it lets me use a third party anti-virus to scan incoming emails..

Buddha, you don't need the pro version of Mail Enable to do that. All you need is Norton Anti-Virus and it will automatically scan all incoming and outgoing emails. The 2 programs don't even need to know about each other, Norton just seems to know when email is moving...
The auto protect feature must be turned on to make Norton do this.
