Okay people.

Hopefully this earns me bragging rights.

Cogengen case /w window......$50
Athlon XP 2400+.......................$85
Epox EP-8RDA+....................... $85
Vantec Iceberg Chipset cooler..$18
(WATER COOLER!)
Swiftec H20-8500AV.................$245
Tons of Arctic Silver junk...........$15

New computer Total cost........$498

Selling my current computer to a friend for $390

I'm building a brand new rig with water cooling and everything for just $100!

I'm thinking it's a great deal.

This new stuff, coupled with Corsair XMS 512MB PC3500, Antec TrueBlue 480w, and a water cooled G4 ti 4400 that I'm going to put homemade ramsinks on it SHOULD BE KILLER!!

Thanks for reading!

Sounds like it'll be pretty good to me. Better than what I've got.

Just remember if you have a case window FCC rules say you have to have rouned cables and at least 1 cold cathode ray tube that may or may not be sound activated. Just don't want you to get in trouble with the FCC, you know how THEY can be.

OH NO! I didn't know about FCC rules crap!

I already have a 12" blue cold cathode tube wiaint to be used. I DON'T have rounded cables though. I will see If I can find some good deals. I just can't imagine spending $30 of a few cables.

Need 2 master+slave IDE cables and 1 floppy cable and that should be it I think.

Here are some good inexpensive cables...buy the shortest length that will work in your case...

Instead of BUYING round IDE cables, can I use shrink wrap around a folded IDE cable? I work at Ace Hardware and I can get shrink wrap for about .50 for 10 feet.

Would like work better? At all?

Thanks

yes...but instead of folding which makes them very stiff...I would separate every third or fouth set of strands and then do what you can to get the heatshrink tubing on...if you are careful it is not hard to do this...just get a new razor blade and set it into the grove between the 3rd and 4th strand and press down gently...only need to make less than a quarter inch cut to start.
Then with cable flat in front of you pull one side toward you and the other away..... use cable ties or a small piece of electrical tape to secure and heatshrink away!
