Win98 scandisk on every boot

I know that I posted this before and got the answer but for the life of me I can not find that thread.

There is a user that is running win98 and every time they boot the pc it will do a scandisk. It does not matter if it was shutdown correctly or not.

did they let scan disk finish completely or does this person abort it? Try letting it complete and see if it happens again.

Also you can edit msdos.sys and make it so that it never scans (not reccomended )

you can also try..

Start/Run type msconfig
on the lower right side of the "general" tab there is a button called "advanced"... click on it. Ok, now somewhere in there you should see a line that reads "disable scandisk on improper shutdown" or something to that effect. Give it a shot and see if it helps, Good Luck
