isn't it domain alias = www.yourdomain.com/blablabla/

and subdomain = subdomain.yourdomain.com

something like that... not sure.

I think a domain alias will allow you to have a specific domain lead to a certain area of your site.

Like this:
www.tonyromen.com/news - actuall path
www.tonysnews.com (brings up tonyromen.com/news) - domain alias

I think that's how it works. I just got that from a quick Google search, so I'm not sure if that's even correct.

I found the answer.

subdomain=
subdomain.tonyromen.com

domain alias=
domainalias.com (also points to tonyromen.com)

for example

b&n.com
bandn.com
barnesandnobles.com
barnes&nobles.com

can all be domain aliases pointing to the same page.

thanks anyway guys.

Here's what I found:

An alias is a domain name that translates into another domain name. An alias can often be used within networks to allow users to easily type shortcuts to popular hosts. Pretend everyone's favorite host on the domain x.com is named www-server. To help save keystrokes, we create the alias, www.x.com, for the host's domain name, www-server.x.com. The two host domain names share the same IP address and will represent the same host.

The owner of a domain has complete authority to create additional child domains or subdomains. As an example, once we were granted the domain name x.com, we could create separate subdomains for sales (sales.x.com) and for tech support (support.x.com).
