To Raid or not to Raid
Could I please get some suggestions as to where I can get some
good info on raid systems?? What are the pros and cons?? Please
Be kind I'm still new to the computer world.

It would depend on the application that you want.
Redundancy, speed, speed and redundancy, etc...

Sorry for the blunt response...(I'm here at werk)
RAID 0: Striping. Fast, no redundancy. (Loose one disk, loose all data)
RAID 1: Mirror. Loose one disk, rebuild or replace and rebuild mirror...
RAID 5: Striping with parity. requires 3 or more drives of the same capacity (or more). Uses the total of one full drive for the parity strip that is triped across all drives. Loose any one drive, rebuild or replace and rebuild.
These are the simple RAID types.

or up grade what I have.
