I WANT TO O/C!!

Lol

Okay, If I buy a new CPU/MOBO which can overlcok the most. I know this is kind of a newb question, but whatever. I selling my puter right now and it has a 2400+ which I can get to 2380mhz but the mobo can't give enough VCore. I need more than 1.85V. The 2400+ is only aroung $85. Is there any chip that goes higher than 2380mhz for less than $85? Also, What oveclocking mobo gives higher Vcore.

Any suggestions will do.

As always,
Thanks

the motherboard they used has been modded . you will have to mod any motherboard to get that kinda voltage . moding voids warrantys . when it comes to overclocking it is hit or miss . those supper high overclockers aren't in real pc's . they are just clocked up . they don't run everyday . they get them to clock really high and thats it . don't expect it in a normal everyday use machine . if you do your kidding yourself . i bet that 2400 that is running at 2.9 gig is liquid nit cooled . you think they are useing it like that as a everyday pc ?

How do you mod the motherboard to get more volts? I realize I'm not going to get 2.9 ghz from a 2.0 ghz chip. But it seems like the 2400+ has the ABILITY to go the highest.

The Epox EP-8RDA+ (the one I am looking at buying) I heard can run Vcores over 2.0 (2.2) was the max I saw. Your saying that you can ONLY mod a motherboard to get that high of voltages?

Thanks

yes you have to mod the board . how you do it i am not sure but i am sure if you do a google search you can find out . but the extrem oc'n you talking about have to have major cooling . sure the chips are cheap but if you have to buy 200$ worth of stuff to cool it to get to those lvl's what the point , if you want to be stable that is . if you look at most of those really high overclocks u will see they are all with modded boards and dry ice cooled or liquid nit cooled . not really practical .
