Sony VAIO's are for tea-party ornaments. They sit their and look pretty, but where's the stability and performance? So they have some interesting features, and the case is semi-nice. But the features come at a cost: their overpriced. Even Dell is better than them. So you get a card reader and Firewire ports in the case? It's not for free, for every IEEE 1394 port they throw in, they jack the price up $100. Same for the other "special features". Do your self a favour and build a PC for cheap, and just get a nice, quite case like a Sonata or that Lian-Li that makes only a small amount of noise?
i just purchased a VAIO laptop for like 30% off and after i ripped out all the crap-ware and trash files, it ran like a charm. plays GTA3 like its doing nothing.
Whatever computer you purchase/build, you'd better buy a couple of extra stacks of cards for all the solitaire action thats gonna be happening
now theres a program that doesn't get installed in my house... ever
BUWAHAHAHAAA <- post count 666! BUY VAIO NOW, SELL YOUR SOUL FEEBLE HUMAN! YOU MUST GO TO BEST BUY AND SPEND MONIES!!!!
Get a Dimension 4600. I have a 4550 and it's been a pleasure owning it. It's not had any problems except for the SBLive4.1 Value that came with it. The new 4600's come with a "premium" SBLive5.1.
