F1 Challenge 99-02

http://www.murchisons.net/f1/layout/...its%206-03.htm

Great article about the soon to be released F1 Challenge 99-02. Looks like the things I disliked from the Previous EA F1 games have been sorted (though no mention on if track bumpyness is still a bit over the top). Comes out in a week, really looking forward to it.

Apparently there's no career mode in the PC version, just in the console versions. I'm definitely getting the PC version though.

Well I have been a firm fan of Geoff Crammond, and I am still enjoying Grand Prix 4. F1 challenge just seems to be another cash in attempt by EA, they get lots of money for releasing old games the way they should have been released in the first place.

Yeah I've been a Geoff Crammond fan since Stunt Car Racer. Grand Prix 3 rocked my world but when GP4 and EA's F1 2002 came out, I bought both and ended up playing neither (though I played the excellent GTR 2002 F12K2 mod for a little while). It felt like I had an amazing game that was split in two and couldn't be put back together again.

I personally feel that Geoff Crammond got left behind a bit with GP4; apart from AI and wet weather (both visually and physically) which I think are unmatched. I also really like the graphics in GP4, though you really need a fairly beefy PC. There are rumours that there might be a Grand Prix 5, but if so, GC prolly won't be working on it (he's working on a Stunt Car Racer remake). Though Sony have just bought exclusive rights to the F1 license for 2003 to 2007 or so.

I have looked at the GTR mod and have been interested, esp after pro race driver was such a disappointment.
I will prolly buy F1 2002 purely for the mod, but i hate giving EA money
