Kids Video or Mobo problem?

I just put in a BioStar M7VKD mobo in with a AMD 1.2Ghz processor. Along with that, I put in a GeForce4 MX 440 64mb vid card in. The vid card and processor are used, and the mobo is referb. The problem comes during boot, everytime the screen changes, the monitor flickers several times. I never had this probem before and came with the upgrade. Any ideas or suggestions?

I should have mentioned this, the monitor doesn't always come up the first time I boot. Sometimes it takes 3-4 tries to get any video to come up..

So you hotswapped the old mobo for the new one? Did you go into the device manager in safe mode at first boot and remove the hardware so it can be detected fresh by your new motherboard?

Have you tried putting your old video card back in to see if the "flicker" still exists?

Just my first thoughts...

Mike

when i had a flicker, and a bunch of crazy crap colors it turned out that my vc was damaged, so i would try swapping video cards first then do all the other stuff that mart said.
