Kids Router Help with Verizon and Lynsys

Has anyone had any experience/problems setting up a Lynksys g5g wireless router with a Verizon DSL Modem??

For some reason I cant seem to connect to the internet. I know verizon uses PPPoE and I have set the new router up exactly as my old lynksys router was and entered the appropriate login and password for the PPPoE. Got to connect, and Nothing!!

Need help if anyone has some solutions.

thanks

i have the non-wireless and it works good w/ verizon, but you may try doing this.

Go into settings-->network connections-->then on the side click create new connection-->

when the window pops up click next---->then connect to the internet--->set up my connection manually--> connect using a broadband connection--->name it--->then type in username and password---->then just finish it up.

This fixed my connectivity problems, hopefully it will correct yours.

Try using a cross-over cable between the router and modem.

I know it sounds crazy , but I have a D-Link 704 router and the manual said NOTHING about needing a cross-over cable.......
but that's what it took to connect.

Hope this helps

Thanks to all of you for the help and suggestions. After much wrangling around with it, and actually resetting the router itself, I managed to get it up and running. It has been smooth sailing since then!

I appreciate the responses!!
