Video Card Upgrade

Ok guys, my computer is almost 4 years old and I have the original GeForce GTS card in it, and let me tell you it's one hell of a card, plays all of the latest games flawlessly, granted it sputters when it needs to but I put in a huge RAM upgrade in it.....but anyway, I want to upgrade my video card, granted there are a lot of opinions on what I SHOULD get, but I want to narrow it down:

Something between 150 - 250
Preferred to be the BEST card for Gaming/Video....
ATi/NVidia doesn't matter, just wanna narrow it down..

yup what bruneau said . it all depends on what you wanna spend . you can get a ti4200 for about 100$ it will do all ya need . or you can get a 9500pro for the top end . don't think you can get a 9700 pro in you budget limits . i think it is closer to 300$ than 250 .

Just saw several at Pricewatch.com Omar. $275 is close enough, eh?

The 9500 Pro is about $185. But, those are OEM prices, now.

I'm curious, what speed is your cpu?
I would think there has to be a point of diminishing returns on a higher end video card when the rest of system is "dated".

Good point WB, it's a 900 MHZ, AMD Athlon

Another Edit: Also, I was wondering about that too, say I fork out all this money for a high end graphics card, well.....on my system since it is only 900 MHZ, would it even really matter b/c wouldn't it depend on my the rest of the "system's" capabilities?

EDIT EDIT AGAIN: Hey i was looking at the 9500 Pro, how is that? I heard it can be clocked to a 9700 and it seems like a pretty decent card for todays games

The Ati 9500 Pro is a good choice, it can be modded to the 9700 Pro.
Here's alink comparing most of the recent cards;
