DC to AC adapter?

I read a review for Logitech Z-560s in which someone hooked up their speakers in their car and said their speakers sounded comparable to people w/ $1000 systems. I'm not as vain as this person, but I'm home for the summer from college and I have my Cambridge Soundworks MegaWorks 510D 500W speakers sitting around doing nothing. So I figure, hey, I use a portable CD-Player to listen to CDs in my car anyway... why not try that.

I looked around and found that Power inverters or DC --> AC converters are what i need. I also saw that they have different wattage ratings. What kind of inverter/ DC --> AC adapter would have DC passthrough (to still power my CD player) as well as provide enough juice to power the sub and 2 speakers to give stero sound. Cheap would be good too!

Those are the speakers i have.

Thanks,
David

hmmm any coverter that can handle a small apliance shoud do the trick you you just want to convert the ac and use the plug that came with the speakers .they should pull more that what a converter that can run a tv does . but don't know of any that have dc passthru that would put out the right voltage . maybe try radio shack for ideas and look online to but cause radio shack will kill ya on there prices .

so you have a discman type cd player? and you want to run it and the speakers off the inverter? why not use the ac adapter for the cd player?
and instead of finding a more expensive inverter with pass thru which i have never heard of why not get a dual cigerete lighter adapter so you can plug 2 things into the the one socket?

An inverter is the way to get clean power. Here look at the one for $60.00 it should be plenty with 400watt continuous and 800 watts spike.
