ATI 7200 Video Capture

I sure hope someone can help me. I have the ATI 7200 Video Card, and have been trying to capture video from my VCR. Everything was working well except for the dropping of frames when I was capturing. So I thought I would downloads the new drivers. But when I did and when I tried to install them it told me that I needed to delete any earlier drivers, and that is when the hell started. I tried for two days solid to delete the driver but every time I did Widows XP would just reinstall the older version driver, and it would just not work. Finally some how I was able to install the driver that came out in March, which is the one I had before. But don't ask me how I did it I think it was a gift from God. However now I am not able to capture video, though the ATI software. However I can capture it trough other software but like Roxio Easy CD Creator 6 but I have been having other problems with that software. It has been importing my movies wrong by putting lines in fast action shots. I am thinking of buying a new video card. I have been looking at the Nividia Personal Cinema Card. I think I can fix the problem with my old card but I don't know how to disable the Found New Hardware part of windows XP. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You need to uninstall the old software, not just delete the device instances in Device Manager.
You'll hardly get better video capture than from an ATi solution - and don't believe that NVidia is any better when it comes to driver installation hassles. Just sort it out.

ATI 7200 Video Capture Reply

I would love to be able to delete all of the files but I am not able to. Every time I delete all the files associated with my ATI product it tells me to reboot to complete the process. So I do and Windows XP just reinstalls the older version driver before I can even install the new one, and the old driver that it installs doesn't work at all. Does anyone know how to disable the found new hardware process in Windows XP Home Edition so I can install the new drivers.
