screen flashing

twice today, my screen flashes black every other second. it just starts happening, and wont stop, basically the computer is frozen too. i can hit ctrl+alt+del and EVENTUALLY it will respond, but it still does the flashing, so i have to restart. i took the vid card out over the weekend and put it back in sunday night, it was fine til 6 am this morning. having done anything to mess with it yet, just thought i would post it here first

windows xp, ati 64MB DDR VIVO

1. Have you checked for IRQ conflicts?

2. Have you tried different drivers?

3. Have you tested using a different monitor?

4. Have you loaded the monitor driver supplies with your monitor, not the default windows monitor driver?

Sounds like the vid card may be overheating. Is the fan working ok? Is it oc'd any?

latest drivers from ATI, a specific driver for my monitor supplied by windows (not default) not OC'd, fan is good. havent tried different monitor.
