ATi All-In-Wonder VE (PCI)
I have this card and have installed first with the CD, then the latest web updates. There is a Video Controller (VGA Compatible) under Other Devices in Device Manager that won't install. I've tried installing it as different things in different ways but I can't identify the component or get it going. Any ideas on how to fix it? This is on Windows 2000 Pro.

Show us its properties, particularly the page with the "Location" information.

H-m-m-m-m . . . .
I'm also running the ATI All-in-Blunder VE (PCI) running in my box running W2KPro, and it doesn't show up in the device manager at all. My display adaptor is my video card, which isn't ATI.
I'm not sure why the PCI TV card took over as the provider of drivers for you video card. But, you may want to try re-installing your video drivers.
I found the ATI drivers very lacking in quality of video and audio as well. But, I discovered after I loaded PowerVCR II, none of the ATI drivers were being used. Instead, Cyberlink's driver's and software was running everything and the quality of the video was equal to or better than the TV. The audio was sweet sounding as well in surround sound.

Thanks for your response Peter. This is the same issue discussed in this thread: http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthre...781#post911781
As you can see from my most recent post there, I've reinstalled Windows and reverted to ACPI, but still have the same issue. I'm attaching the page you requested. Just for giggles, I'll also include the resources. Let me know if there's anything else I can add to help this.

For the heck of it, I went into BIOS and changed Primary Display Adapter to Onboard. On reboot, no signal to the monitor from the card (as expected) so I plugged the monitor into the onboard and voila! No problems in Device Manager. I had to configure the resolution, color depth and refresh rate, but it looked good once done. I also made sure both display adapters were using the same monitor driver, as I only have one at the moment. So I rebooted, re-entered BIOS, and changed Primary Display Adapter to Auto. Again, no signal as anticipated, so I reconnected the monitor to the card. Everything appeared as normal, but the same ! shows up on the onboard in Device Manager. It seems this computer really prefers the onboard to be primary. I wonder why it's not disabling with the card installed. The error message is that it won't start; I wonder perhaps if I connected a second monitor to the onboard and configured Hydravision, would all be well?

OK, problem identified. Your onboard VGA remains active when you run the PCI card as primary. This is normal, although obviously someone told you to uninstall the onboard VGA's driver ...
Just install that driver again, and all will be fine.

I have tried to install it again several times. Every reboot, it still has a ! on it and won't start so long as the card is designated as primary in BIOS.

Do you have the chipset's AGP driver in place as well?
Anyway, if it won't run it's probably a BIOS bug on that mainboard - but if you don't intend to use the integrated graphics as a second head, you can safely ignore the problem.

since no one else has asked whats your mobo?? I've had the issue in the past with an older board and found out that I had to disable the onboard video on the board via jumpers might check into that? the only other suggestion is if its a bios problem you may need to flash and update the bios.

My motherboard is an Acer V75M, built for the IBM Aptiva 2170-245 and the Acer Aspire 3300. Neither of those sites have any helpful downloads for this board's video. I was sure that the onboard video wasn't AGP, but I found a package including an AGP driver that installed fine (in place of PCI to PCI Bridge), but the onboard video still doesn't start regardless of driver in use. There are no jumpers to disable this board's video, and I have the latest and last BIOS from IBM for this board (May 2000).
