Burnt = Trash ?

Here is the issue i have recently.

Other night i'm playing my ass off in a server fraggin like usual. Get bored, power off my pc and hit the sack. Next morning i turn the pc on and it turns on but without any screen. Hmm. So i cuss and start taking apart my pc. Come to find out, my Absolute Morpheus Geforce 3 now has copper showing by the monitor plug circuitry. Obvious conclussion? Hit by power surge, $300 card is trash. So just to be sure that i haven't woke from a bad dream i turn on my other pc. Guess what ? Yep, no friggin video. So, another Geforce 3 this time a ti200 128mb card. Little pissed off at this point after resorting to a GD voodoo 3 and a pos guilemont. Both have damage to circuitry near monitor plug. Needless to say both of my NEC pos $150 dollar monitors are not damaged. Now the question is....................... do i have to piss and moan all the way to the nearest pc store or ................. does anyone have some knowledge on repairing copper circuitry ? I have soldered various things in my day. Not copper printed circuitry though. Any suggestions as long as they don't involve testing static charge with your tongue or potential damage to any of my other computer parts.

BTW, i will be going and buying 2 surge protectors that work. And no they didn't have warranties on the ones that i had.

Note. Both machines were totally powered off, monitor display Orange led.

That really sucks. I'm gonna go get surge protectors for my rigs as well. We get alot of lightning around here this time of year, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hey, I think you should go for the GF4 Ti4200. Cheap card that easily matches the GF3 Ti cards.

Sorry for your loss man.
