Audio Jack Help!

Ok first of all this is my situation at night I cant game or play my music loud or any where near hearable it seems. So I wanna use headphones. But they dont reach the back of my case. I can wire a set of headphones directly to another cord making it longer but i dont want to ruin them as them being my only good pair. So i was wondering what devices do u think i could rip out a 3.5mm jackout of that i could wire?

I don't understand, why can't you buy a cable that has male and female 3,5mm plugs? They don't cost alot, and have no ill side effects.

$2.79 at my local Crackio Shack for a 3 footer....or am i missing something?

The radio shack has headphone extention cords for a few bucks.I bought a 25 footer for 10 bucks so a 3-6 foot wouldn't be much.
