I get disconnected Every 1 - 5 hours

ok,i have verizon online DSL 768/128k and the speed stays solid at 731.5 and up changes alot.and i got a westell wirespeed modem. and i called verizon and they said that if u do not do any activity for more than 30 mins u get disconnected. welll i member leaving my internet on for 13 hours at night and woke up its still there. but then when i get on it disconnected 10 mins later. and when ever im doing work it disconnects.we went through my LinkSys 10/100 base card and changed it to 10base T but still nothing and i tried other settings. Nothing. what is the problem , i want mine Always on, not always disconnect. RR this is really frustrating. and they did a line test and everything came out 100%.now i love verizon online but not for being disconnected. Anything i can doo ??? please HELP

When you get disconnected, Look at the westell modem and i believe if themiddle light blinks. It sounds like you are having syncing issues with verizons servers. Call up verizon and keep pressing the issue.

Dont think its possible to have "always on" connection, but you seem to have another issue.

i have verizon dsl and i had the problem of getting disconnecting every 30mins. called verizon a few times, finally speaking with someone in the engineer dept and about a week later, its fixed and its been rock steady since.

also goto the www.dslreports.com. their forums are very helpful.

You don't have a router connected to your Modem, do you? I've seen this sort of thing happen when there was a router involved...

One other thing, do you have a UPS? You might want to try connecting the modem to it. Power fluxuations in your home (office?) might cause disconnects too...
