Does windows just freeze and YOU restart it, or does the whole computer actually reboot inself?

Any CD or a certain CD?

What is the wattage of your power supply.

Check the IDE connections from the CD-ROM to the mobo. Try a different IDE channel if there is one. Maybe even try a differnt molex connector to the cd-rom.

Dying power supply? Perhaps that is just the straw that broke the camel's back and is pushing your system over.

I've tryed multiple Cds. 300W power supply, windows freezes even the mouse, it restarts about 50% of the time, other times I'll reset it.
