Gateway Monitor gives no signal message

I have a Gateway "Teleocity" Trinitron 21" monitor I got used.

I can still return it, but I like it!

MY problem is that a message pops up in the screen saying "No video input" and it flashes between channel one and two. When I move my mouse it disappears and all is normal. The screen is being generated by the monitor, almost if the video cable is unpluged, but the cable is fine.

Ideas? Or should I just return it?

Thanks in advance..

I would return it. It sounds like some dodgy connection either on the PCB or cable, and that is hassle you could do without later.
IMO its not worth the hassle, but its up to you. Expect more problems in the future if you keep it.

replace cable ....make sure no pins are bent...make sure all connections are solid...update video card drivers.... make sure cable is well connected to video card...blow out connectors.
If you return it it will cost you shipping if nothing else so make sure you have covered all your bases.
are you sure your power settings are correct?
is the computer going into standby or sleep and your monitor is thinking it lost signal?

I bought it locally, so I can just schlep it back...Which is what I think I am going to do.

I'm going to put another cable on it just to try.

It does go to stand by, but my other monitor didn't do the screen thing

thanks...
