Kids Need help with archos jukebox

Hi
I am new here but hope to get some useful tips here.
I have an Archos Jukebox for the last one year which is superb now tragedy is that i got a new computer whose (external) usb port of the comp was connected to the wrong slot of the motherboard, which supplied more power than required when the usb lead connected jukebox with the comp.and hence something happened to the otherwise normal functioning archos.
Now the jukebox is working fine ,charging fine, but could not establish a connection with comp, and comp is showing it as unknown device.Actually the communication between the hard disk (jukebox) and usb point on the jukebox has developed some problem.Though JB is showing usb connection when connected, and comp gets busy when disconnected
Drivers are upto the mark coz it was working fine just half hrs ago. Please help me out with this .I will be really grateful.
Lime

what was the usb port connected too? you might have (i guess) fried the communications interface just a little so it still thinks it works but it doesn't really. where did you get your pc? might want to hae a chat to the company who built it about replacing your mp3 if it turns out it is dead.
