Air Conditioning my PC

Hi... I don't know if anyone has ever tried this mod before, so I'm open for suggestions. I've got this air conditioner setting in my window near my pc, and I thought of the idea of hooking up some of the air output straight into my comp to get some really cool airflow when I have my AC turned on.

Pic and info on my AC: Air Conditioner

Pic and info on my case:Case

I was thinking of hooking up some type of funnel over half of the AC output that goes into maybe a 1 to 2 inch diameter tube which then is pumped into my case. I was thinking of using another funnel to hook up to the front vent of my case, so that it is sucked in through a case fan and distributed throughout the case.

The hard part is, that I want this to be removeable and rehookable... i often take my comp to friend's houses and whatnot, and I don't want to have to take my AC with me.

If there are any suggestions or comments on how I could do this, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

i wouldnt even think of doing it .... when the computer warms up after the ac is off you will get condensation .... water and electricity just dont mix well

Are you saying that condensation would build up, because the air from my AC is too humid? There may be a way to put in a series of filters in the tubing, or maybe put some sort of de-humidifer in a gap in the tubing. Or just set a de-humidifier in the floor of my case.

Spending some extra money on that would definately be worth it, because air coming directly from my AC would be a lot cooler than the 70-90 F degree summer room temp.

There used to be a Computer Renaissance in Athens that sold PC's that had AC units in the base under the regular part of the case. These PC's had a duct that ran up and attached to the heatsink and provided fulltime chilled air. I've never seen anything like it since. They were getting some wild overclocks on AMD K6-2 chips.

the air from the ac isn't humid . and yes you could duct it into a pc easy . if the ac is close use a dryer flex duct you can get at any hardware store and add a hole in the side of your case . mount a fan in the hole to blow into the case . it will help pull the cool air from the ac and when you take your pc with ya the fan blocks the hole and helps cool alway . the problem with condensation is from the water in the air in the room not from the ac . thats how ac's work they take the water OUT OF THE AIR . thats why ac's drip water .

Shouldnt be a prob with condensation as the unit dries the air as part of the process---try a piece of flexible clothesdryer duct hose and some tape and cardboard to the lower front intake fan or similar and see how your temp does---you could mount a flange to the computer later if it works well and easily disconnect the hose to move it---

Remember though it puts out toxic gas out the back of it. Thats why it has to be sticking out the window.

Though that AC is designed specifically for cooling a PC...I wouldn't trust it

Vapochill is the only thing like that I would trust...and it's still pretty spendy.
