Would this upgrade be worth it?
Thinking about replacing my Ti-4200 64 MB card with a Ti-4600 128 MB card.
This is for an Athlon XP 2000+ system. Worth it? If not, will it be worth it in a few months, when prices go down?

Well first, what do you do with this card? Play Games? If so what games? I still have a Geforce3 ti200, and plays games well.
Why do you want to upgrade?

I want to play Half-Life 2, Doom 3, and Deus Ex 2 with maxed-out or almost maxed-out settings.

Personally I think the card you have with 64 MB should be fine.
As much of a Nvidia fan as I am if I were going to purchase a card tommorow and wanted to be resonable price wise I would go with the ATI 9500 PRO card. I've read good things about it.
I'm including a link to toms hardware (in case you have not seen this one) on most all of the current cards and how they compare.
There is not alot of difference performance wise to justify spending the extra money IMO. http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic...120/index.html

Sounds reasonable, JP. I'm about to do a major fixer-upper on my PC in the coming months (power supply, fans, etc), and I was just considering whether the video card was worth replacing. What you say makes sense.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, Neb. If I don't need a new card right now, I can wait until the REALLY good cards are cheap, and get one then.
