changing ram speed

Can anyone tell me how to do this? I only have 128 of pc 133 right now but i am going to buy another 256 module. It would be nice to know how to change the speed. I have Aida on my comp already but my knowledge of it is limited.

thanks

Not sure what you mean by changing speed. The RAM speed is based on the motherboard speed, so if you're using PC133 SDRAM, that's the speed it will run.

You can increase the speed of the ram by increasing the FSB. BUT increaseing the FSB also increases your AGP/PCI and CPU Speed.

your mobo may support faster than pc-133 ram so if you bought some 333 or somethin and took the 133 chip out it would run at 333
