LCD/notebook mod...buy?

Went to the computer show today and in the back corner of a booth,,,,low and behold a cache of like 20 used government reject notebook laptops!
$10 apiece!
I debated....I walked around carrying one, looking for other stuff....I talked myself out of it!
Should I go back?
Is the lcd usable for a mod that wont cost me a fortune?
I gotta admit I'm getting tapped out here!

Yeah but does anyone know what it would involve say to attach the lcd to the side of my computer, and run it as second monitor or something?
Or how about running some kind of ever changing screen saver on it just for looks!
.....Any ideas , guesses on cost of end mod to make it work?

The problem with older LCDs is i have one on my old pos notbook and there is a kind of blur on them. But hell for that cheap do it.

How fast are they. we talking liek 75Mhz or?

That was the other snag....no way of knowing...they were wrapped up and sealed with this big sheet of paper stating " DO NOT ASK!"...."these are government issued refurbs and have no standard specs....AS IS!"
They coulda had smashed screens for all I knew!

Naw....I read that idea somewhere awhile back.
Never actually seen a finished version of someone doing it though...probably too hard!

Buy a comple tell us what ya got. If they are decent 133+. I might be intrested.

$5 for parking....$8 to get in.....$4-5 for gas....$1.50 for Mountain Dew....$109 for the Mobo I almost bought today.
I dont think I can afford to go back unless Im damn sure I can mod this thing.
