Dsword is on a distinguished road
new mobo...

right now i have a bit of money to spend and i was thinking on upgrading my mobo... i need an opinion on what to get. I was thinkin of the MSI K7N2G-ILSR nForce-2 Motherboard but not sure. this is it right now..

Just ordered the Delta ILSR board myself tonight

I was told to beware of what memory/PSU you use in it.. I'm ordering Crucial PC3200 .. the MSI forums seemed to be OK with that setup as their were a few people that said it worked fine with theirs.

i just looked on the MSI K7N2G-ILSR nForce-2 on newegg. it said only supports 2700+ or higher cpu, is that true?

I believe it should work for Socket A's in general

My board can't be too much different than yours and mine says
"Supported CPU:Socket A for AMD® Athlon(tm)/Athlon(tm) XP/Duron(tm) processors "

Thats a long list of procs supported
(Goes much farther back than 2700 )

What link are you looking at for that?

Yes...it supports all socket A processors...100mhz, 133mhz, 166mhz, and 200mhz Front Side Buses are supported

How about a Biostar M7NCD with the Nforce 2 Ultra 400 chipset ? It will run the new XP chips with a 200FSB. Along with the dual channel DDR it should smoke. If it has the other features you're wanting. Newegg has them for $80.
