silent pc after xp repair

i did a repair installation of xp pro. i ve never had a problem with the on board sound before. now i cannot get the drivers (from the xp pro cd) to load.

i have a epox 8kha mobo with a amd xp 1500/256 2100 ram.

should i use the new via 4 in 1 s??


AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM) is what is not working. no drivers can be found.

Maybe that's what you need...installing the 4in1's couldn't hurt...but I don't think that's what you're looking for.
