Viewsonic VP171B small review.

Well, finally I`ve received my ViewSonic VP171B 17" LCD and I`m speechless.
The quality of this product is incredible. The stand of the monitor is great, you can swivel it in a second!
I`m using analog right now through a G3ti200 and the picture is so bright and crisp that I had to turn the brightness to 0!! and contrast to 20%! Still I have light on my keyboard if the room is in complete darkness.

This monitor has 500:1 and 260:1 along with 16MS of response time. DVD look amazing and pictures are incredible. Text is soooooo sharp I cant believe it how different is from a CRT.
Colors are really good, you have some options on the OSD which is really indept as controls option.

Size is great. I have it beside my 19" NEC and I can`t see the difference between the two.

The monitor has 2 analog in and 1 DVI in, and you can switch between them whenever you want (option in the OnScreen Menu). So really you can connect 3 comptuers to it and switch between them without a hitch!

I can`t compare, for a few more days, betweeen analog and DVI. As soon I`ll receive my Albatron 4200 I`ll hook it up and let you guys know if anyone is interested!

Well....if you`re looking for an LCD, I would recommend thisone to anyone, in fact I might just take another one! DUALLY...woot!

Sounds real nice. Where did you end up getting it at? How did you end up deciding an a Viewsonic? Were you able to compare other brands side by side? Don't get me wrong, I really like Viewsonic products but I haven't been able to compare their LCD's directly with other brands.

I still can't get over the sticker shock of the LCD's. I'm still stuck in CRT land right now. I've got an A70 17" Viewsonic and a Sun 21" (made by sony) right now. I did see an NEC/Mitsubishi in an account that just blew me away the other day, though.

The 3 inputs would be handy also.

I bought the monitor at DELL with the help of the great guys over at the Deal Request forum

I`ve comapred a lot of LCD, going around Central Florida and reading on the net and finally after 6 month or so, I`ve got this one. ITs out since not long ago so there are not many reviews out yet. I was getting a NEC 1760NX until I saw this one.

WOW. no words, really.

I`ve decided for Viewsonic basically for the style (slim bezel) and and becasue I think they are a great company

If you have any more questions let me know, I`m happy to answer them!

Thats a good time! I`ve heard the 12ms response time LCDs are around the corner, you might be lucky and get one of those for Xmas, while OLED displays will hit retail Q2 2004.

you`re welcome, by the way.
