what is this called?

guys,
what are the things called that you can connect 2 cat5 cables together, like an extender? I'm looking to buy some online somewhere, but i can't figure out what they are called.

a repeater needs to be powered, it boosts the signal strength to continue on another length of cabling

cat5 has a limit of about 300', or used tooo{i think} then you would need a repeater.

Can't beat Copernic. I use Copernic Agent Pro at work & home. It is mainly used to check our company profile on the search engines. But it is good for everything else.. You can still find almost anything..
