ATI Radeon 9500 PRO overclocking

What is the best utility to over clock a ATI radeon 9500 Pro.

I would say either Riva Tuner 2.0 or Rage3d

I'm 95% sure that you need to flash the 9500 Pro chipset with a different BIOS so that you can overclock it. Otherwise, the best utilities is probably Rage3d and there's another one that enthsiast sites used, the Radiator(?) the one for the 9600 Pro that [H] used.

I've heard you can flash it with a new bios and it will overclock to run as fast as a 9700...

Now not sure where to get the bios.

Also there was somethign that you had to soilder a couple resistors?? on the board?

You don't have solder any transistors as that was the original 9500 where they used the L for the memory so that you can make it into a 9700. I'd find you a link, but I gotta go to work.
