Multifunction printers

I've been looking for one for a while. I'm looking for something inexpensive(like less than $200), good scanning, good B&W printing(mainly text), and cheap ink cartridges. I really have no use for fax and color printing so it doesn't matter if the picture quality is subpar.
The Canon MultiPass F20 appealed to me because the scanning was ok, the colors was a bit dark but programs like photoshop will easily raise the brightness.
I also looked at the Lexmark X5150, but the scanning was bad, and ink replacements make it a more expensive model.
Anyone have any other suggestions for a good multifunction printer?

The Canon MultiPass is awful!! We have one at the shop and it jams frequently. its not a very good all-in-one.

Also the lexmarks are pretty slow as you found out the scanning is bad so is the coping and printing.

If you don't mind spending a couple hunderd more. I highly recommend the HP 3 in 1 or the 4 in 1 (if you need fax cabibilities) I spend 349 about 4 years ago on a HP Office Jet g55 and its still going strong today.

If I had to go and buy another printer I would definatly go with the HP all in one. Scanning is great, so is the coping and the printing. Not only that it spits out paper at a good rate when doing heavy duty printing.

I just got a HP PSC 2210 All In One... Its $300 so its a little out of your price range, but its awesome. Scans fast, prints fast and clear and has a couple of slots for digital camera media. I am really glad I got this unit.

I got a Dell A940 a couple of months back and it's been superb. (Print/scan/copy) Costs $139, but you can usually find a discount coupon by posting for it here and you usually get free shipping from Dell. Cartridges are about $45, but seem to last a good while. WAY longer than my old Lexmark's.
