Kids DVD ROM Not listed in BIOS summary

This could be linked to the other problem that i have posted in this forum today. But, in working on the other problem, i was in BIOS checking things out. In the Standard Bios menu, i can see the Hard drive on primary master, the primary slave as none. And i can see the Toshiba DVD-R as Secondary Master, and LiteOn DVD as Secondary Slave. When i let the computer do a full boot, the LiteOn DVD drive is not listed in the BIOS summary screen.

(The screen that comes up after the memory count and processor ID that shows a table and listing of the hardware that BIOS saw is what i call the BIOS summary screen.)

The Secondary Slave is none. When windows boots up, i can see the LiteOn drive and read data from it.

Weird. Suggestions??

Kids Update

Ok, so i moved both DVDs as slave devices and now neither shows up in the BIOS Summary screen. If they are set as master, they are listed. But, in the standard CMOS setup menu in BIOS, they are listed no matter what the jumper.

Sounds to me like a problem with the BIOS...check out the manufacturers website for BIOS updates and look for anything related to DVD detection issues in the updates.

Well, i turned out to be a bios upgrade. I had not seen anything in the readme about what the latest bios fixed that had to do with DVD drives or even the IDE ports.

Thank you all for the replies.
