512 or 1 gig?

So...with this deal from slickdeals, should I get 512 mb of pc3200, or spend a little more for 1 gig pc2700?

IMO, you should go with larger amount over speed.

but it really comes down to do you really use that much?
I can't imagine why I would need more than 512 at the moment... I'm considering getting 512 of 3200 because later on I may want to upgrade to a later processor when they come down in price but dont' want to be weighed down because I got memory thats too slow....

Just my thoughts at least

well, if you think about it, with the new motherboards coming out that will support PC4000 or whatever...

U should get PC2700 cheap for now..

and eventually upgrade to the newest and baddest.

I've got 1024, I had to loan one of the 512 sticks to a friend, leaving me with 512, the difference was negligable. I noticed absolutely no difference while loading, playing games, etc.
My experience says, save the dough... G/L!

go with 512 of 3200 - its more upgrade friendly and you dont really need 1024 unless you do major digital video editing or 3d design with many factor modeling

I say just get 512, its just enough at the moment, and you can always upgrade later on.

I'd go for the PC3200, if only because it would be easier to move to a new comptuer later on if you upgrade.

I just bought a gig of RAM, but I doubt I'll have a need for the upper 512 for a while.
