Hd not being detected + ntldr prob.

hello everyone - I just got done reading your ntldr help thread and it seems like you got a great forum here...maybe you can help me.

ok my floppys screwed at the moment but I was gonna just boot-up from the cd-rom and install XP-Pro from there (I remeber why I couldn't do that - no smartdrv) but anyway it won't do it all - all I get is a message.

NTLDR missing

Did the same thing when hooking it up 2 my friends comp (as a master). oh yeah its completly formatted at the moment but for some reason each partition (i have 2) went raw at different times???

what I can't figure out is I can boot from a friends bootable cd and I can't find my hd!!!! this happened before when my disk diskette drive was working and I assumed that it was the RAW prob. but now Im not sure. (this was when my primary turned raw)... It is getting detected as an IDE device during bootup though...

now to add the mystery when I run fdisk - [this is the text I see]

display partition info (option 4) -> 11% NFTS (primary), 89% EXT DOS
extended dos contains logical drives
display logical drives -> no logical drives defined!!!

delete stuff (option 3) ->
1) Primary DOS -> There is none
2) EXT DOS -> can't delete EXT DOS while logical drives exist

then on the bottom of page -> all logical drives deled in EXT DOS partition

3)NOS DOS -> gives warning and will let me delete my primary NFTS partion

don't think this is a good idea.....any guess at whats goin on?
