anyone purchased T1 service lately?

My employer is looking into expanding our business dsl to a T1 line and im interested in.....Time. How many weeks does it take from an initial phone call to get the service before we actually have a usable reliable T1 line installed upon an existing 20+ user LAN? I know with DSL it can be up to 4 weeks but is usually two weeks and I'm assuming T1 is very similar. If I could I would like to hear from someone who knows through experience and not what you've read about. Thanks.

I can give an example for a recent T3 installation... about 6 months from time of order.

Depends on your telco... They will be able to tell you.

I've had them installed in 1 to 4 weeks.

A lot depends on if they have ports open in the CO, and if their field techs are busy.. =]

My one experience was 90 days from call to install. Mostly waiting on the phone company.

Depending on how important this T1 is to you, ask your provider about "Install tokens" ..

Sometimes you have to pay a pretty penny for them, but some people find them worthwhile.

In the SF Bay area it usually takes SBC 2 weeks to install our T1's.
