mobo temp?

Hey,

Ive got an Asus CUSL2-C (socket 370) mobo. Lately my comp has been locking up randomly. So far it hasnt done it yet today ::crosses fingers:: but I was thinking that it might have somthing to do with the mobo temperature. Its reading at 40°C right now. I opened up the case and am ventalating it with a window fan....its pretty hot in my room. Do you think this could be making the system lock up? BTW...the cpu temp is 44°C

under full load my AMD CPU runs @ 43C, case is at around 32C. So.. if its not under full load that seems a little high. Is this an Intel chip or AMD?

damn it just froze on me while trying to type this. Damn there it goes again. Its an intel chip. Actually now that I think about it, I booted into knoppix last night and it did not freeze once. Maybe its just a problem in windows XP?

How bout reinstalling XP... does that help?

i dunno...

I put a fan in front of the comp and it keeps the mobo temp at 36°C. It doesnt freeze anymore. I turned the fan off and it jumped back up to 39-40°C and then froze. I think it is temperature related. I just dont know why knoppix didnt freeze.

well i just jinxed it because it froze WITH the fan on.
