liquidmotion is on a distinguished road
Athlon XP 2500 333fsb problem
we bought my friend an Athlon XP 2500 (333fsb) but it only shows up as an AXP 1900. we have flashed the bios (soyo kt400 dragon ultra mobo) but still nothing.

any ideas?

Coult be it's just reading it wrong.

Check it w/ a program like Sisoft Sandra to see what your actual mhz are for both the processor and fsb.

I'm guessing the front side bus is running at 133Mhz instead of 166MHz. Try setting it to 166 and see if it picks the CPU up correctly.

we just left it to automatic detection in the bios.

I think it's misinterpreting your fsb to be 100mhz. Look for a jumper on the mobo to switch it to 166fsb.

hmm. we set the ram to 166 and it freezes on boot. we'll check that out, though.
