PC Under Construction!

Ok, I trapped the fedex guy and got my stuff. Now I am going to go through this building process right here online.

Right now I have all of my stuff on the dining room table. I'm starting with the mobo, cpu and memory first of course. I know everyone recommends thermal grease, but this being my first build and all I am going to do everything by the instructions. Then I can switch out heatsinks and use grease later to see the difference in temps.

I'll be posting as I go along, but I have college classes from 5pm till 8pm, then karate from 8:10pm till 9:30pm.

Did you use a net, or a steel-jawed leghold trap?

if you are using a amd processer, the less times you remove and install it,the less chances you have for poking a hole thru the mobo with a screwdriver while pressing on those damn clips.IMO

I know, I know. I'll just have to be carefull....and lucky too I guess.

Ok everything has gone great so far. I'm still working on getting all the right wires in the right places on the mobo now. This part is darn confusing.

lol.

I got everything except the usb and firewire on the front panel hooked up. One cable (firewire) has an easy connector on it. The USB cable splits into a bunch of different small connectors with voltages printed on them.

I think I figured out the USB thing. It had to be pieced together to fit onto the right pins on the mobo.

But the firewire thing definately doesn't have a place to plug into.

Oh well, I'll work on it more tonight. As for now I have an algebra test to attend to.
