I love the JIUHB

Got my new xp 1700 oem from newegg yesterday

Got it up to 12.5 x 180 = 2250 mhz !!!!!!

Voltage is at 1.8v and running 55-56c under full load with the heat sink that came with my xp2400.

Here's my new specs:

asus a7v-333x
xp 1700
1GB crucial 2700 @360 mhz
GF3 Ti200 @ 200/400

New 3dmark 2k1 score is 8502 Not bad for a somewhat cheap system.

These chips truly rock!

Amen to that...I just got one myself a few weeks ago. Got it stable last night at 2.2 Ghz 177 x 12.5 with a voltage of 1.625. My temps are in the high 40's...around 48 or 49.

Got some Artic Silver III on order (should come in today) so with any luck I can lower the temps a little more...and squeeze a little more out of this proc. Heh heh...

Hey Gouki, I used some antec silver stuff and it helped a little bit. Didn't have any arctic silver handy. Which mobo and heat sink are you using? I would like to cool mine off just a hair.

Here's my basic setup:

Epox 8RDA+ with 2x256mb of PC2700 (Crucial)
Thermalright SLK-800A w/ SmartFan II

And the temps I posted...those are full load as well. Running FaD and Prime95.

Here's a couple threads you should check out (if you haven't already):

Epox 8RDA - wow! Great overclocking!!

overheating problem...need help

how many fans?

Let us know if we can be of any help!

I can't do anything with that chip. I overclocked it to 2075 and my hard drive got corrupted. I oc'd it to 1999 same thing. Now I'm stuck at 1900 where its stable.

AMD Athlon XP 1700+ Tbred chip. JIUHB is the code on the chip of that series that people can overclock the most with.

Buzioid, i'm curious as to what brand HD your running (size and cache as well) and what type of "OC" corruption occured.
The same thing happened here and I lost all my startup group programs. This is with a Maxtor 40 gig / 2 mb drive.

Buzoid, what stepping do you have? What heatsink/fan are you using? Are you using a thermal compound on the heatsink? How many case fans do you have? Are they blowing/sucking in the right direction?

Lots of things to consider when you overclock...If you eliminate all the different things to consider then you know when you're maxing out your chip. Otherwise...your chip could possibly go farther but something else is holding it back.

yeah I was trying to figure out what JIUHB was before I looked in the thread....I thought I had it figured out as ...

"Joint Indionesian Urban Housing Board"

Oh well, pretty close anyway.
