Is my laptop 15" screen going bad?

Have a Gateway Solo 9300. It is currrently like 3 years old. The image on screen looks very hazed and screwed up sometimes. I end up having to reboot to get a decent image on screen. The next time it screws up like that, i'll take a pic and post it. Is it the video graphics chip or the monitor itself thats screwing up? ANyone else ever come across this problem? Also, anyone know where I can pick up a battery for this lappy? Not going to Crapway because they want too much and a customer number(Dont have a customer number because it was sold to me by a shipped out military family).

I would probably go for a new lappy. Or if you are on a budget a used one from eBay. If its three years old u r gunna have a hard time finding parts for it.
