Cant Acces FTP???

Hey yall im trying to acces my friends ftp, and whenever iclick the link it says the follwoing (see attachment)

If i go to my other comp it works fine, so its got to be in my internet setting sor somrhting. Any ideas?

Im Running XP Pro.

First it says it doesn't have access to folder contents (most probably anonymous access is disabled and you failed to enter correct credentials).

Second, it says there's an internal error. That might be fixable by either repairing ie or installing a newer version.

well he gave me the link to it with the logon ad everything it works fine from the other comp. So i didnt enter anything wrong.

I Wonder if it was cause of a Windows Update, or maybe cause i didnt make an update, im gonna check for an update.

What version IE are you trying? And is it set for using passive FTP in the Advanced settings page under options? If you have a firewall or DSL connection (or your friend does) it might need that (or it might need to be off if ya don't).

its the version 6 that comes with XP and yes i have passive on, i tried it with off too, my friends comp is behind the same router so it souldned b the router.

Try it from the command prompt. That will take IE out of the picture.

c:\ftp my.friends.box

and it will ask for user and password.

hehe weird it works if i take passive off. thx all i tried it in flash fxp and it gave me a data socket error, thats when i knew that it was passive mode, and not IE. Well Problem solved.
