Ok I am sure I will get heat from some of you but anyway I downloaded what was suposed to be a movie it is an avi file ext.I ran a scan for virus' before I tried to run it and came up clean.When I tried to run it nothing happend.I try to look at the file propeties and nothing happens.I try to delete and it tells me that the file is in use or sharing with another person logged on.I end task on everything but system files.I've tried to get rid of it in safe mode.I've check all the startup programs and can't find a thing.All I know is it is taking up a lot of space and anytime I try to do anything with it (even highlight it) it just makes my system slow to a crawl and my system isn't even near a slow system.I have also tried to delete using norton wipe info and it can't either
Any idea? Please Help.

Try it from a command prompt. If that fails boot to safe mode and try. Last ditch would be safe mode w/ command prompt. I have seen badly encoded files do this. You could try turning off thumbnail view for that dir.
