vaio pcg f520 sound driver!!!

i have a pcg f520. i lookpset sed the infor you said about yamaha chipset and downloades from the site. it didnt work! where can i find the driver, like on files, not on a setup program casue when i installed the one i downloaded from the site of yamaha, it apperas new pci multimedia hardware found and it did not found it.. thnks

sorry friend. i live in venezuela and its hard for me to speak in english. i recently bought an used pcg f520, and it came with no system restore cd or driver or the windows 98 SE factory shipped OS. i installed another version of the OS, but no the shipped one, and it came the devices very badly. it says like two unknown devices that doesnt recognizes. i seeked the other devices such as the video and modem, but the sound driver was unable to find. i looked at other posted messages about yamaha chipset and downloaded from the yamaha website and dodnt work either. can u help me?? i will also need your help finding the original or copy system restore cd that cme originally with it, cause in my contry is hard to find. can u help me then?

Well this is what you need to do. First you need to find out what whats the model number of that yamaha soundcard. You go into Control panel then Systems then Hardware devices and then click on sounds and see what model is that Yamaha soundcard so I can actually find the right drivers for it. Now as for Recovery Cd you can probably find it on Ebay. I really dont know where you can get it have you searched sony website? For now since you have a different OS I wouldnt worry about the Recovery CD. You need to give the model number of Each drive your having trouble with so we can help ya and find the right drivers for it.

the thing is that i dont havd sound! in coontrol panel, sound. it doesnt give me information about the model. ive seeked and it says its a yamaha ds xg but the model when i am configuring appers a box that says that is not the right device for that thing. i have several models, but none of them really works. i need to know wich excatly driver should i use and how to configure it. i tried sony and i called today. i am waiting for an answer of them/ please help!

Ok heres the driver for that card what you have to do first is register to that site which is free then you are able to download that driver okay I hope it works once you download it just install it . Hopefully it should solve that problem

if you need to find out about your sound card get a system scan app like sandra

first i have no idea of sandra??. second ive downloaded that file and once its installed it restarts. after that appers a new hardware found, pci multimedia device, and windows cant find the drivers. so iam screwd anyways. if i force it at use disk, it appear a bunch of yamaha productos all with the ds xg chipset, like legacy sound driver, mpu01 soundr driver, yamaha fm soundr driver etc.. so i get lost finding the right one.. help!!!

sandra is just an app that gives you a bunch of information about your system components but if you know what it is then it wont help you - thought you didnt know what the card was

Okay So you installed the driver and it rebooted and then said found new hardware PCI multimedia So it ask you to install drive choose automatic search for driver it will search in your system and it should be fine I dont know whats actually going on. it should have fixed the problem
