Vinyl Dye Selection

for those who have used vinyl dye. two questions on the color selection.....
1) my dad has a dell (fairly new) with the grey charchol and flat black scheme. what brand/color name do i use to match the drive face fairly close? it's partially set back in, so not a huge deal, but he's wanting to spend way too much for a black cdrw.....buy a beige cheap and dye it i tell him!

2) for me.....i have a brushed aluminum skyhawk case and really want to paint the drive covers/ floppy covers as well as maybe the monitor????? i'm looking for a silver that will match, but not be overwhelmingly shiny also.

any help appreciated.

thanks.

Get some Fusion spray paint. Check out my page.
Walmart has it for $4.25 a can. I'm still trying to
find a fusion color palette for all 16 colors.

i'm specifically looking for vinyl dye colors/brands. i've heard good things about vinyl dye and that's it's much less labor intensive and almost fool proof and will not chip or fade like paint.

for those that have worked with it, what brands and specific color selections will work with the above cases. thanks.

trophy1....just looked up krylon's site.....maybe fusion is a vinyl dye? it says specifically for plastic and no sanding/priming required. have you matched colors to any brushed aluminum cases or any dell or flat black cases?

looked again at their color selections....don't want a gloss black, and i don't see anything that sounds like aluminum or silver.

Fusion IS a vinal dye. There are 15 or 16 colors if I recall. It works excellent. I believe there are two blacks... a glossy that is too glossy to match most of the blacks that ore on computers and a satin that is almost perfect match for most systems.

I'm not certain on the silver but I have read somewhere about people matching it fairly close. If I come across it I will post for you.

lobo_pac - Trust me, the first time I used fusion was on a bay door and it looked remarkable. You won't believe how great it looks. As long as you paint it right it'll look like it came from the factory.
