mod idea help wanted

heres my idea....i always name my case this time im actual going to put the name on the case.......i was going to cut it out of the door of my case(the one on the back side of the MOBO tray). i was going to cut it out and back it with some plexi then shine some ultra-brite LEDs through it. Heres the deal i want to frost the plexi im pretty sure they make some kinda spray on window frost. if i cant do it that way can i sand it with a high grit and get a frosted effect? does anyone know where i can find the spray frost if there is such a thing?

not sure you can get spray frosting but you can get try some thing like glass etching and you can get that from an arts store...not 100% on how well it works on plexiglass but the stuff works great on glass

edit: just read it again I don't think you want to sand it it won't give you a frosted look but a scratched look. I'm not sure it will turn out the way your thinking it will. Look at an art supplie store for some ideas like i said i know they have that glass etching stuff that works great on glass but I'm not sure it works on plexi.

i know the walmart near me carries a spray window frosting stuff, not sure on the name or anything but it's in the craft department. Also, in experimenting i discovered that if you give plexi 1 light coat of paint you can backlight it and the light will show through but without the light it looks painted.

Could have it sandblasted,that's how they do regular glass for glass etching in cars.
Or check into a craft shop like LuNCH said,and see what they have to offer.

I thought regular old sandpaper would do a nice frosted effect.

Try it on a spare piece of plexi and see if that works. I think it does.

that guy who did all the mods did that. he has a description on how he did it as well on his site. i can't remember his name. starts with a id..... mmmm i think he wrote godzilla in chinese/japanese on the side frosted it and lit it with a neon. i'll look for his site.

the sand paper didnt look bad...but i like the GODZILLA mod look better
