Recommend a PSU
I have a EnerMaX 350w PSU right now that is not putting out enough juice. If I o/c my processor, I can't reboot, and my 5v bogs down to 4.91V! 12v and 3.3 are okay. Actually nothing is o/c right now and I just looked and my 5V is 4.97V. That is unacceptable. I think the reason the 5V is so low is that I have five 80mm fans daisy-chained on one 5V line. You probably wnat to know why in the world I did that, but it is because I havea fan controller that uses One 5v line, and I have five fans plugged into it.
Okay, I want at least a 430W. That should give me enough juice for the CPU when I o/c. But are there certain PSU that can provide more AMPS of the 5v line?
Hopefully somone knows what I am talking about.
Thanks

All of them on one line shouldnt have any impact on it like you are seeing. And at 5v you can run at least 3-5 amps before wiring is a concern. Now, 5 80mm fans can certainly pull the voltage down no matter how you connect them.
It sounds like you are teetering on the edge I would bump to a quality, EnerMaX or Antec 450.

I can't seem to find an Enermax @ 450. Only the 430w EG465P.

Wow, a 500w PSU for $17.00. I have learned that if it seems to be good to be true....... I think I will just get that Enermax EG465P. It's rated at 430w and has a max output of 460w. Read some reviews...seems good.
Think I can get some money for this Enermax EG365P i have?

well i am useing 2 of those achieve ps's . but mine are 400w they don't seem to sel;l them anymore but frozenpc.com does i think . and i thought the same to good to be true but one is in an oc'd barton setup with a ti4200 vantec areoflow , burner , cd , floppy , 3 case fans , 1 fan is 90mm 2 are 80 mm , and it runs very nice . till i burn one out i think it is my ps of choice for now . and it is dual fan . its not as quiet as the antec ior enermax but it isn't loud either . give it a try you might be surpised . and as cheap as they are why the heck not .

Why not get a larger Enermax? I am using the 651, which puts out @550. I never think bout power when I do odd stuff like add lights and drives and stuff to the system anymore.
As for your old PSU... ***cough***another system***cough*** |

Yes you are about right, close to 150-160 or so.. but I am happy with it =) Its used to run my dual workstation as seen here
I am using Enermax pretty much exclusively on all my systems, including the server which has been on for years... =)
